All behaviors serve a purpose—even the ones characteristic of personality disorders. Since these issues, by definition have to start showing up early in a person's life, we explore some of the conditions which might cause them to use extreme ways of coping and reacting. (Remember, children think in all-or-nothing, concrete terms until they approach middle school).
In this presentation we explore the functions of the unhelpful behaviors, and interventions to help people learn more helpful ways of reacting to their distress, and ways to explore and address the triggers for their distress.
This course is also included in our unlimited CEU packages.
